Tahoe City Downtown Association

The Tahoe City Downtown Association’s mission is “to enhance and promote a vibrant and prosperous commercial and social center for residents and visitors to Downtown Tahoe City.” In other words, it’s a bunch of folks who love our little town and are doing their best to make it even better.

On June 4th, the Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the organization with a night on the “Tahoe Gal.”  Enjoy appetizers, and live music by classical guitarist Lucas Arizu and singing by Tahoe native Kendall Naughton, while watching Tahoe float by from atop Tahoe City’s favorite tour boat. The Gal departs from it’s Tahoe City berth behind the Post Office at 6 pm. Advance tickets are $30. $35 the night of the event, with proceeds benefitting the TCDA.

The TCDA is also celebrating the arrival of a new director who took the helm on May 1st. Stacie Lyons comes to Tahoe after ten years working on recruiting and admissions for Humboldt State University. She is looking forward to working with “a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers,” and is really excited to be doing her part for the future of Tahoe City. She says that while she has always wanted to live in Tahoe, she waited for “the right position to come along which would gave her the opportunity to make a difference, to do something good for the community.”

While Lyons’ first order of business has been getting connected with Tahoe City, soon she will be part of an effort to make sure that when people think of coming to Tahoe, they think Tahoe City.  TCDA is working on increasing their membership, which already includes most of the businesses in Tahoe City, and establishing some exciting new events to make the Tahoe City experience more enjoyable.
